The Chapter of the Order of the Holy Cross Wants a School in South Africa
Bros. Timothy and Daniel returned from our Order's Chapter meeting in June both gratified and excited. The work that was done there and the decisions that have been made were both significant and fruitful. The Order has come to at least some better understandings of directions guided by the Holy Spirit.
The primary event that affects the work of our monastic community was the approval by the Order to go ahead and build a school on our monastic property, expanding Holy Cross School from just pre-school up through Grade 3. We were delighted and felt affirmed that the Order of the Holy Cross was willing to take this risk with us in our response to Christ's call to "let the children come" into our midst. We hope to begin to break ground on the new school building very soon and waste no time in making our plans for the future of the children in our small rural corner of South Africa. Please pray for us as we begin this very important and thrilling endeavour.
We also request and welcome any contribution you might make to help us take the school into the next phase. We will need funding for endowing the school, for materials and for paying additional staff including teachers. We hope to offer great salaries to attract the best teachers we can possibly get to give the children the education they so need and richly deserve.
And thank you all who have brought us to this milestone. May God bless us all as we travel this new exciting road together.
